Railway Recruitment 2025–26: In a big move to provide jobs across India, the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have already given out over 9,000 appointments in just the first quarter of the financial year 2025–26. Special Priority for Women and PwBD Candidates
To make the process more accessible, the RRBs have taken special care this year. Exam centres are now being allotted closer to candidates’ homes, especially for female candidates and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). This makes it easier and safer for them to appear for exams.
Tech-Driven Exams: Safer and More Transparent
To keep the exams fair and cheat-proof, Indian Railways has introduced Aadhaar-based e-KYC verification for the first time in such large-scale exams. This system successfully verified over 95% of candidate identities.
Also, electronic jammers have been installed in 100% of RRB exam centres to stop any cheating through mobile phones or electronic gadgets.
Even Bigger Hiring Plans for FY 2026–27
Since 2024, RRBs have already published 12 recruitment notifications, covering 1,08,324 vacancies. Now, the plan is to continue this momentum and hire another 50,000+ candidates in the next financial year (2026–27).
This Railway Recruitment 2025–26 drive is part of Indian Railways’ yearly calendar and aims to fill vacant positions across departments.
Bonus: Identity Verification for Passengers Using mAadhaar App
Apart from recruitment, Indian Railways is also improving passenger security. The West Central Railway (Bhopal) has started using the mAadhaar app to verify passengers’ identities. Soon, railway staff will use this app on handheld devices to check real-time Aadhaar verification and stop misuse of fake tickets or ID cards.
